Year 4 Cricket Tournament

25th May 2016

The Year 4 HGPS cricket team made the short trip over the river to Houghton and Wyton Cricket Club on a sunny Thursday afternoon. The tournament started well as the children displayed good determination and team work. The game had a brief interlude after a devastating leg-side shot from Mil Singe landed deep in the bushes.

The children kept battling and ended up winning the next fixture with a display of superb bowling throughout the team!

With 2 wins from 2, the children were keen to keep the perfect record. Hemingford were made to bowl first after losing the toss. Hemingford fielded superbly and restricted the opposition to a low score. Up steps Theo Newton. Second ball of the innings, and the ball sails over the boundary, over the fence, and into a garden. From then on, HGPS did not look back. With 3 out of 3 wins, Hemingford will now look forward to competing in the County Finals tournament! Well done!
