Year 5 Football Tournament Success

12th November 2015
On a mild autumnal Wednesday afternoon the Y5 football team headed off to Crosshall Junior School for their first tournament of the year. Our first game was against our partnership school, Hungtingdon. In a very competitive and close encounter we came away with a well deserved 1-0 victory. After a quick turn around we were into our second game against Godmanchester, who started the match very well, scoring two early goals. The team stuck together and tried their best to come back into the game, but Godmanchester held on for a 2-0 win. Our third match was against Winhills, a wonderful free-kick late in the match gave us a another 1-0 victory. The final game versus Stukeley was a fierce and close game, with both teams evenly matched the game ended in a 0-0 draw. With all the games over, we waited for the results after a busy afternoon of football. The Y5 did the school proud for duration of day and came overall joint second place, with Godmanchester the eventual winners.
Well done to everyone from Y5 who took part and represented the school brilliantly.
